The research group FOR 5022 (FOR TiMed_Life) investigates medicine and the temporality of the good life through close interdisciplinary collaboration among practical philosophy, medical ethics, medicine, modern German literary and media studies, and sociology/social psychology. The findings are brought together within the framework of an empirically and hermeneutically informed ethics of the good life in time, which seeks to account for the diversity and changing nature of sociocultural conditions and contexts of application. The aim is to develop, on the basis of concrete case studies, an ethically reflected understanding of the temporal conditions of the good life in relation to medical possibilities.
