‘My research focuses on the one hand on the phenomenology of medicine and psychopathology, and on the other on empirical research into the phenomenological structures of physical illness. In the past, I have dealt conceptually with the phenomenological investigation of corporeality/intercorporeality, self-determination, volition, basic trust and temporality as well as disorders of these phenomena. Most recently, I have been particularly interested in exploring the altered experience of chronically (cardiac) ill patients using qualitative-empirical methodology.’
