‘As a cultural and health scientist, my research focuses on the cultural and social understanding of health and illness, particularly in relation to individual ideas of ageing, dying and death as well as concepts of time, temporality and the good life. I am doing my doctorate on the ethical aspects of life plans and advance health directives, and I am also an ethics consultant in the healthcare sector and a member of a clinical ethics committee in Oldenburg.’
